Socrates ( 470BC-399BC) was a renowned greek teacher and recognized as the father of western philosophy. socrates prefferd conversational teaching.

          He was first greek philosopher to seriously explore questions of ethics. his contribution to the development of ancient greek philosophy which provided the fondation of western philosophy. 
  •    What is death, according to socrates ?
            According to socrates , philosophy is the practice of dying . death was nothing to be feared .he accepted death rather than betraying the way he lived his life.

            Socrates was a moral philosopher. he was not interested in mathematics or science but was concerned with the quality of his soul and that of others. socrates philosophy examines how we should live. this led him to discussions on various virtues, things like wisdome , justice , courage , piety , and so on. he taught that people should careless about their bodies. he believes that inner beauty and wisdom are more important. socrates emphasized the importance of humility and the recognition of our own limitations. he saw the main task of his philosophy in the knowledge of himself and others.

           The socratic method is a form of argumentative dialogue between individuals, based on asking and answering questions. in classroom educators often use lectuers to help teach new content . educators use the socratic method when they really want studentsto use their critical thinking skills. 
  • How did socrates died ? 
           Socrates died in athens in 399BC after a trial for impiety and the corruption of the young. he spent his last day in prison among friends and followers who offered him a route to escape, which he refused. he died next morning , in accordance with his sentence , after drinking poison hemlock. according to the phaedo , his last words were ; " crito, we owe a rooster to asclepius. don't forget to pay the debt " .
