Unit 2 Trends and movements
This taask is given by Megha ma'am.
1)- Expressionism
Expressionism was a literary movement that began in Europe in the early 20th century. It was a reaction to the materialism and rapid urbanization of the time. Expressionist writers sought to convey their ideas through a new style that emphasized the subjective experience of the individual.
2)- Surrealism
Surrealism aims to revolutionise human experience. It balances a rational vision of life with one that asserts the power of the unconscious and dreams. The movement's artists find magic and strange beauty in the unexpected and the uncanny, the disregarded and the unconventional.
This activity is a game I have created where we close our eyes, fold paper, and create Expressionist-like artwork.
3)- Avant garde movement:
The avant-garde movement is a term used to describe innovative and experimental art, literature, music, and other cultural activities that challenge established norms and conventions. Avant-garde artists often seek to push boundaries, provoke thought, and explore new ways of expression. This movement has been influential in various forms of art throughout history, including Dadaism, Surrealism, Futurism, and Expressionism. The avant-garde movement is characterized by its embrace of the unconventional and its rejection of traditional forms and techniques. It's all about breaking new ground and creating something fresh and original.
